Multipurpose building at Thennekumura for Gangawata Korale Pradeshiyasaba – Central provice

A Five storied building with raft foundation which comprises with car park, community hall, ayurvedic clinic, library with total floor area of 4,000 sqft. The building project cost is estimated at 20 million SLR.

This project is Integrated Road Investment Program (iRoad) to improve the connectivity between rural communities and socioeconomic centers by improving the transport efficiency on selected national, provincial and local roads. Under the iRoad Program, around 3000km of rural roads in Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Central, North Western Provinces and Kalutara district in Western province will be improved / rehabilitated and maintained for three years through 42 civil works contracts.

This project is funded by ADB. AVEK is responsible for the geometric design (HA, VA, Cross Sections and Pavement design) and structural designs of bridges, drains and retaining walls for Galle district G1 (65 km) and Kegalle district KE1  packages. The design has been carried out for K D Ebert & Sons Holdings Pvt Ltd, main contractor of G1 and KE1 packages.

This is the extension of Colombo – Matara expressway to Hambantota. Total length of the section is 30 km and going to be completed in two stages. Initial stage is 4 traffic lanes and the ultimate stage is 6 traffic lanes which has width of 3m and 30.5m respectively. This project is funded by EXIM bank and the main contractor is China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), China. Total project cost is 860 USD million.

AVEK is responsible for the structural design of 9 km long viaducts, underpass bridges, overpass bridges, underpass culverts and box culverts, including the designs of pile foundations and 6 span continuous and simple supported ‘T’ girders. The design has been carried out for Engineering Design and Project Management Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, the main designer of the project.
